The water cycle, also called the hydrologic cycle is a continuous movement and storage of water that we are constantly using and taking advantage of. There is no real beginning or end of the water cycle but beginning with the sun, solar radiation heats up the ocean and evaporation occurs. The water vapor then enters the atmosphere and once it has reached the upper atmosphere, it cools and condenses into clouds. Precipitation happens and falls to the ground as either ice or snow, enters streams, or goes into the ground. Once the water is on the ground, it eventually ends back in the ocean and the water cycle is repeated. https://www.rmbel.info/primer/water-cycle/ |

Pre Huaka'i Thoughts I am very excited to go on this field trip because I have never been to this area before. I do live on the east side in Kaneohe and have always wanted to go to Waihe’e but never really got the chance to. After learning about the water tunnels and dike systems, I think it is going to be really fun to experience something I have been learning about and am really curious to know what it is like to go into the water tunnels. I also want to taste the natural water source because it would be the first time I have been given the opportunity. |
